Issues Regarding: File download popups on 16th January 08
Hello there Podders
Recently, we noted a known issue that we faced after putting up Payflick ads. It seems that Internet Explorer 7 and Safari 3 BETA are downloading the scripts as files and it shows a file download dialog.
THIS IS NOT A VIRUS OR SOFTWARE! It's simply a javascript file which was supposed to be downloaded as a cache for your browser to display the ads. Apparently the advertisment codes worked on Firefox 2.0, however we will still fix the issue asap.
Internet Explorer 7 will block the file download and display the yellow information bar. Just ignore the bar and continue surfing on betaPod. We apologise for any inconviniences caused. We have already informed Payflick technicians regarding this problem.
Meanwhile if you have any other problem, do look us up at the helpdesk!
Today, we are proud to present the newly rebuilt betaPod's Store: betaMall! After a month of re-development, we're able to add in tighter security and the cart system. You can now shop with confidence and check out easily. Payments via Paypal and cash/cheque postage are accepted.
We have also opened betaMall Shopstation, where you can buy clothes, accessories and more! If you are a guy, you can try buying some items from betaMall Shopstation for your girl, or if you are a girl, get started to doll up yourself!
From time to time we might also give discounts or you might also be able to spot some items payable using podPoints! Don't let your podPoints sit in your betaPod account and wait! This season might also be the best opportunity to thank someone, buy a gift and send it over!
Oh, also we have moved our lo-fi version. From http://betapod.net/lo-fi/ we moved to http://lo-fi.betapod.net/.
Whoots! betaPod's First SPAM!! on 15th December 07
Hello there guys.
First of all, let us congratulate two members, or should we say this ONE PERSON, for bring the first spammer. He/she represented him/herself in the account !danielbrigs and then when i banned that account, he/she went to re-create another one !blenders. I love the never say die spirit of this spammer where when i banned one account, he/she went to re-create another.
This spammer thinks that i find his spams funny, and treated me as dead. So what i did? Banned him, on both accounts. Then blocked his IP, he now cannot come on betaPod. Also, i entertained him with an advertisement. hahas let's all watch this little ad.
Hahas enjoy guys. And because of this ONE PERSON, more security measures were added to both the thread submission and registration process.
Woah! It's quite a week, where we spend the whole week fixing and updating the whole site. There were numerous fixes to bugs found in the system and quite alot of new updates and changes made to betaPod. We're going to list them all out here!
One of the most obvious update is that we have changed our logo and forum index icons since yesterday. This is to bring out Christmas spirit of betaPod.
1) Fixed bugs found within the registration system.
2) Updated the invitation system with pPoint fix: previously pPoint was deducted instead of added to the invitor.
3) some XHTML clean up.
4) Added new partners to the bottom on the pages: Bux.to
5) Fixed some URL issues with the Lo-Fi version.
6) Brought up the Email Validation System
7) Fixed 2 minor bugs found in the email validation system.
8) Added re-validation center for failed validation.
9) Some minor optimization of the codes fixing of minor issues.
We are also cooperating with one of the blogshops to bring you the best for Christmas. We hope to finish the new shop system by end of this week so as to allow you guys to buy some gifts for your beloved, hated or stranger! We also hope that you can ultilize your pPoints so that you can buy stuffs at a cheaper rate!

betaMall System Update: Cart System on 2nd December 07
Hello there
We are major upgrading betaMall's purchase and check out system so as to be able to implement the cart system and allow us to add in more items to the mall. Also, the system will also be much secured and hopefully we are able to add a SSL certificate to encrypt the connection to betaMall.
Also, there will be surprises as we plan out more things for near future.
betaPod's new homepage design, codenamed BoxCube, has been released after several stability test. The homepage with 6 boxes, is powered by and loaded dynamically using AJAX. Switching between the all-time useful Classics and BoxCode is made easy via a link at the top of the home page lists.
The new homepage designed was made thanks for $lastcowboy for giving me advices on it. We have also fixed numerous security problems, updated the Profile Editor and fix some login issues.

Our latest feature here on betaPod is the new implementation of something we like to call "Cloud Mode". Which you can find here.
This, Cloud Mode, enables users to use the Search function a lot easier, and organizes the categories much nicer to.
